This invention refers to inorganic chemistry in particular to method for production of copper vitriol. Technical result of the invention is to simplify the technological process. Copper vitriol is obtained in the result of oxidation of chalcopyrite concentrate by ozone. The process is performed in the medium of 2,5% sulfuric acid at temperature of 60-700 °C. With this, the molar proportion of the reaction agents makes - copper: ozone = 1: 8, whereas copper : sulfuric acid = 1,0 : 0,2. The reaction mass is filtered and the filter is evaporated up to the final product crystallization out. The crystallized out mass is filtered and dried on the air.
