Abstract

999,965. Dispensing liquids. J. STONE & CO. (DEPTFORD) Ltd. Sept. 25, 1962 [Sept. 25, 1961], No. 34316/61. Heading A4T. [Also in Division B8] A liquid e.g. milk dispenser comprises a cap 8 fitting on the neck 18 of a bottle and a spring clip 22 slidable in a bore 11 in the cap, the clip carrying a valve body 19 secured to a cross-member 23 of the clip, with a bevelled edge 20 adapted for sealing engagement with a seating 21. When inserted invertedly in a liquidreceiving trough 4, a cap extension 10 fits into a lipped opening 26 in a cover 27 of the trough: the valve is unseated when the bottle is inserted and pushed into the openening 26, since the lugs 24 of the clip engage the bottom of the trough, the latter being adapted to receive a plurality of such bottles. The bottle may be disengaged in a partly-full condition, and in this case a washer 28 engages a lipped edge of the cover 27 and forces the valve body into sealing engagement with the seating 21. Liquid is drawn, off through a tube 7, and passes through an electromagnetically actuated valve 6 which controls its discharge to a cup placed below it. Specification 870,763 is referred to.
