A conveyer belt comprises a body of elastomeric material, e.g. rubber, synthetic rubber, having embedded therein a plurality of warp plies and at least one weft ply of "tyre cord fabric " (defined as a sheet-like aggregation of parallel string textile yarns, e.g. cotton, rayon, nylon or polyethylene terephthalate, which may be secured side by side by coating and bonding, or by loosely interwoven light filling yarns). Several warp plies with a single outer weft ply, or sandwiched between two weft plies, or enveloped by an encompassing weft ply may be used, or other variations to suit design requirements may be adopted. In examples the top and bottom faces are of rubber ¢ inch and # inch thick respectively.
