Abstract

998,134. Closures for cartridges. BRITISH RESIN PRODUCTS Ltd. March 11, 1963 [Jan. 22, 1962], No. 2246/62. Heading F3A. A closure for sporting cartridges comprises a plastics overshot card 9 having grooves 13 running across at least one face. These grooves faciltate disintegration of the overshot card which is preferably made of material as brittle as or more brittle than unmodified polystyrene. The outer face of the overshot card 9 has two concentric circular ridges 10, 11, forming a groove into which the rim 12 of the cartridge case wall 1 is turned to close the cartridge. Alternatively, the outer face of the overshot card may have a peripheral ridge with a flat surface on to which the rim of the case wall is turned.
