Abstract

Compositions for coating cellular boards comprise (Example 1) water, gypsum, bentonite and carboxymethylcellulose (C.M.C.); (Example 2) water, gypsum, and C.M.C.; (Example 3) water, gypsum, Portland cement and C.M.C.; (Example 4) water, ground limestone, titanium dioxide, water glass and C.M.C.; and (Example 5) water, ground limestone, titanium dioxide, polyvinyl acetate, dibutyl phthalate, cresylic acid, and C.M.C. Specification 863,413 is referred to.ALSO:A composition for coating cellular boards comprises (Example 5) ground limestone, titanium dioxide, polyvinyl acetate, dibutyl phthalate, cresylic acid, carboxymethyl cellulose and water. Specification 863,413 is referred to.ALSO:Cellular boards (e.g. of foamed polystyrene, foamed polyethylene or foamed urea-formaldehyde resin) are coated (e.g. by spraying, rolling or applying with a doctor knife) on both sides with a hydraulic cement. The coating composition may comprise gypsum, plaster of Paris, Portland cement, magnesium oxychloride, limestone, bentonite, carbaxymethyl cellulose, titanium dioxide, waterglass, polyvinyl acetate, cresylic acid, dibutyl phthalate and water.
