[Also in Division H2] A movable mould part 19 is reciprocable towards and away from a stationary mould part 20 along a path which is located outside the periphery of a support 1 carrying the mould part 20, injection means, and means for moving the mould part 19. A lazy tongs 23 . . .26 operated by an hydraulic cylinder 35 moves the mould part 19 into mating relation with the mould part 20. The lazy tongs is mounted between a fixed plate 4 and a plate 22 adjustably connected by a screw 21 to a plate 17. Plate 17 is connected to a plate 16 carrying mould part 19 by rods 12 . . . 15 sliding in tubes 8 . . . 11 mounted at their ends in fixed plates 3, 4. Final closing pressure is applied by hydraulic fluid acting through a diaphragm 121 (Fig. 13) on a plate 128 on the end of screw 21. An injection cylinder 52 is adjustably mounted on a platform 40 which is reciprocable on tubes 10, 11 by an hydraulic cylinder 65. Supply of hydraulic fluid to cylinder 65 is cut off when a switch 71 is operated by a control rail 72 carried by the platform 40. The cylinder 52 houses a worm 53 driven by an hydraulic motor (54 in Fig. 2, not shown) through a gear 55 and coupling sleeve 57. An extension 58 of the worm 53 bears against a piston 60 in a cylinder 61. The piston 60 is connected through a rod 79, lever 80, 81 and cable 82 to and adjustable limit switch (76 in Figs. 7, 8, 9, not shown) which controls the hydraulic system which forces the piston 60 forward and causes the screw to effect the injection. The limit switch is operated when the screw 53 has been pushed back a predetermined distance, by the accumulation of material at the front of the screw. Adjustment of the limit switch is effected by an operating knob 91 (see Division H2). An ejector device (Fig. 10, not shown) mounted on the plate 16 comprises an hydraulic cylinder 99 and piston having a ram on one end and a screw 104 on the other end. A sleeve 108 carried by a nut 105 mounted on the screw 104 forms an adjustable stop which regulates the stroke of the ram which ejects the finished article.
