Abstract

997,730. Grain elevator. ARDLEIGH SPRAYING CO. Ltd. Jan. 28, 1964 [Jan. 31, 1963], No. 4092/62. Heading B8A. Carriage 10 discharges grain at 50 from the pile shown into vehicle 51, the grain being collected by scoop 28 (not shown) as the vehicle moves forward and conveyed inwardly by screws 21 and 22 so that it is elevated by elevator screw 34 and discharged into the vehicle. Screws 21 and 22 are formed with additional threads 30 and 31 towards their centre and are driven from motor 24. Screw 34 is driven from motor 33 and the carriage 10 which runs on wheels 16 and 17 is driven at a slow speed by handle 18 through a pawl and ratchet associated with wheel 17.
