997,203. Selsyn machines. GLACIER METAL CO. Ltd. Dec. 12, 1963 [Sept. 12, 1962], No. 34782/62. Heading H2A. In a D.C. receiving selsyn, three coneless stator coils C are energized from a potentiometer ring (not shown) and the rotor consists of a permanent bar or disc magnet M. The earth's field is compensated for by a further magnet M<SP>1</SP> reversely polarized. Damping may be provided by a fixed copper sleeve coaxial with the rotor.
