Abstract

1,056,939. Magnetic couplings. ROLLSROYCE Ltd. Oct. 26, 1965, No. 45355/65. Addition to 941,060. Heading H2A. - In a modification of the three-member magnetic transmission described in the parent Specification and Specification 1,034,746, the intermediate member 18 carries coils 32, 34 on its outer and inner peripheries serving to direct the working flux through poles 27, 30. If desired these poles may be omitted, i.e. made non-salient. The coils may be short-circuited and consist of single copper rings, or as shown (Figs. 3 and 4, not shown) as double loops. Alternatively they may be of coils of wire which may be energized from an outside source through slip-rings.
