Abstract
997,155. Resilient pivotal joints and bushings. SOC. APPLICAZIONI GOMMA ANTIVIBRANTI "S.A.G.A." S.p.A. April 2, 1964 [April 9, 1963], No. 13600/64. Heading E2F. [Also in Division F2] In the resilient pivoted joint described in Specification 892,577 and having a tubular layer of resilient rubber or like material interposed between and bonded to inner and outer rigid sleeves, one of which is of hard rubber, either the hard rubber sleeve or the resilient rubber layer is extended axially beyond the other rigid sleeve and resilient layer or the two rigid sleeves respectively and has a circumferential lip on the end portion extending radially beyond the cylindrical exposed surface of the hard rubber sleeve, forming a sealed joint and a recess for grease storage with a mating member e.g. eye or bolt member. In one embodiment Fig. 2 the inner sleeve 51 is of hard. rubber with a helical lubricating groove 54, the intermediate resilient layer 52 being extended at 52b and provided witha a lip 53 and a recess 69 for sealing and lubricant storage respectively. Alternatively Fig. 6 the inner hard rubber sleeve 51 may be extended at 51b to provide the lip 63 and the recess 70 and in a further embodiment Fig. 9 the hard rubber sleeve 65 may form the outer sleeve, with the intermediate resilient layer 66 extended axially in both directions to form lips 67 and a pair of recesses 71a, 71b.
