997,133. Dynamo-electric machines. SOC. D'ELECTRONIQUE ET D'AUTOMATISME. Sept. 24, 1963 [Sept. 25, 1962], No. 37635/63. Heading H2A. A flat annular air-gap type of electrical rotating machine comprises a stator having magnetic poles 11, 12 and a common magnetic flux-translating member 13 which defines with the pole faces two flat in-gaps 14, 15 in which are disposed two rotors 31, 30 individually mounted for independent rotation on respective ones of two rotatable concentric shafts 21, 20 the former of which extends through the latter which is hollow and both having portions 21a, 20a in the vicinity of the air-gaps 14, 15. The machine may be a D.C. generator or motor, the latter providing independent outputs from the two shafts in response to independent currents supplied to the armatures 31, 30 via their respective brushes 40. The poles may be ferro -magnetic permanent magnets. The rotors may have printed circuit windings of the pattern shown in Specification 935,652 and be strengthened by stainless steel rims 38.
