Abstract

996,387. Composite metal sheet. NATIONAL RESEARCH DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION. Dec. 7, 1961 [Dec. 23, 1960], No. 44226/60. Heading E1K. [Also in Division B3] A composite metal sheet structural component having high fatigue resistance comprises at least three layers one of which is more ductile than the other layers and is sandwiched between the other layers and joined thereto in face to face contact. In an example a number of aluminium sheets of different ductility are stacked and hot rolled (see Division B3) to form the composite sheet. Various examples of the sheet combinations and the aluminium materials used are given.
