Abstract

995,607. Valves. WALTER KIDDE CO. Ltd. Sept. 21, 1961 [Aug. 8, 1960], No. 27491/60. Heading F2V. A pressure actuated release valve comprises a body 1 for fitment to a fluid pressure source, such as a gas storage cylinder, an annular seating 5 in the body, a valve member 7 held against the seating by the pressure of the source, a piston member 14 of greater crosssectional area than the valve arranged to slide in a bore 15 and to unseat the valve member 14 before reaching its inner limit of travel, and a non-return valve 24 permitting the outflow of released fluid to an outlet 21 which also serves as an inlet means for admitting the actuating fluid to the working face of the piston. The valve may be used as a slave valve in the fire fighting system of Specification 995,606.
