995,163. Gas filters. B. J. PARMELE. Oct. 2, 1963 [Oct. 4, 1962], No. 37542/62. Heading BIT. A separator for removing fine dust or powder from an air stream comprises an outer shell 8, 10, an inner shell 22, 23, an inlet 40 to the inner shell for the dust-laden air, an outlet 27 for the dust, and an outlet 36 for the air. The air flows as shown by the arrows, separation being effected by baffles 30, 42, ... attached to one wall of the inner shell and baffles 36, 36a . . . attached to the opposite wall. Separated dust passes through outlets 39a, 39b . . . into the spaces 24, 25 between the two shells. The aparatus may be used to separate dust from a pulverizer.
