Abstract

Compositions for combating plant-parasitic nematodes contain, as active ingredient, N-methyl-dithio-carbamic acid methyl ester (CH3NHCSSCH3) in conjunction with a carrier and/or distributing agent selected from inert pulverulent solids, emulsifying agents in conjunction with inert organic solvents or inert pulverulent solids and water, halogenated aliphatic hydrocarbons having a boiling point below 150 DEG C. and having nematocidal action, and inert organic solvents boiling above 130 DEG C. the solid carrier may be a synthetic fertilizer such as solubilized calcium phosphate, ammonium sulphate or other water-soluble calcium, potassium or ammonium salts, e.g. phosphates and nitrates. The emulsifying agents used may be cationic or non-ionic. Fungicidal, herbicidal, insecticidal and other nematocidal substances may optionally be present (no examples of these are given). The compositions can be applied to land or soil before or after sowing or planting.
