Abstract
992,645. Automatic frequency control systems. SIEMENS & HALSKE A.G. April 5, 1962 [April 5, 1961], No. 13100/62. Heading H3A. In frequency control of a variable-frequency oscillator a voltage-controllable capacitor C3 is in series with the tuning capacitor C1 or the whole tuning circuit and a voltage controllable capacitor C3 in parallel with the tuning capacitor C1 or the whole tuning circuit, and both controllable capacitors C3<SP>1</SP>, C3 may be independently adjustable and varied as shown by a control voltage at A. Alternatively, Fig. 2, the tuning capacitor C5 and a padding capacitor C8 form one leg of a bridge whose other leg is formed by a capacitor C5 in series with only one voltage variable capacitor C7 and the bridge diagonally connected by a capacitor C9, which is non-conductive, i.e. the bridge balanced, around the mid-frequency of the oscillator frequency. The systems provide more linear frequency control. The voltage controllable capacity diodes may be replaced by reactance tube or transistor circuits, or by a capacitor in series with a diode whose duty cycle period of conduction is variably controlled.
