Abstract

992,424. Surgical syringes. VACUUMEXTRACTOR A.B. March 15, 1962 [March 20, 1961], No. 9958/62. Heading A5R. A syringe nozzle for applying fluids to fistulas is disc-shaped and has on the skin-facing surface a central column 7 surrounded by an annular groove 6, a fluid supply duct 9 extending through the disc to the skin-facing surface of the column from a joint fitting 10 and a suction duct 12 extending through the disc from the annular groove to a joint fitting 13. In use, a syringe and a vacuum pump are attached to the joint fittings so that on withdrawal of air from the groove, the nozzle becomes affixed to the skin and fluid is applied to the fistula through the duct in the central column. The nozzle is transparent. The fluid supply duct may terminate in the central column in a widened portion across which is disposed a strainer plate.
