Abstract

1416432 Intravascular needles AVON MEDICALS LTD 1 Feb 1973 [10 Feb 1972 3 Nov 1972] 6331/72 and 50754/72 Heading ASR An intravascular needle set comprises a needle and needle-holder 1 which is connected to a stabilising fitting 3 by means of a flexible tube 2 the stabilising fitting having a flat adhesive surface whereby it can be fixed temporarily to the patients' skin, after insertion of the needle 5, and pending fixing by means of an elastic bandage. A passage through the stabilising fitting communicates with a connection 13 to external apparatus for the infusion or extraction of fluids. The needle-holder 1 and stabilising fitting 3 are both formed in plastics, the former having an upstanding web 7a to facilitate insertion of the needle.
