Abstract

991,543. Curtain rails and runners. THOMAS FRENCH & SONS Ltd. Feb. 19, 1962 [Feb. 18, 1961], No. 6069/61. Heading A4B. A curtain suspension system comprises a basically T-shaped brass rail flanged at 11 to carry curtain runners and a master runner 34, and a motor 20 driving an endless link-plate traversing chain 16 which carries a cam engaging in slot 36 of the master runner and which is located between the formations 12a and 15 of the rail and supported by its link-plates and guided by its pivots. A gear-box 21 is used with the motor 20 whose spindle 22 is fitted with a chain sprocket 23 having a slipping clutch adjustable by nut 24. An end chain guide is provided at the other end of the rail and has a toothless sprocket which may be fixed or rotatable. The motor has a starter button and is stopped when the cam engages a micro-switch at each end of the rail. A flange 13 is for attaching the rail to a bracket 14 while length of rail may be joined together by dowel 37 and clip 39.
