Abstract

Analgesic compositions for internal administration comprise a pharmaceutically inert carrier or diluent with 3-ethyl salicylic acid, or non-toxic salts thereof, and optionally, other active agents. Salts mentioned are those of sodium and calcium. Other active agents include phenacetin, caffeine, and codeine. Compositions may be in the form of tablets, or powders to be reconstituted with water for oral usage, or as emulsions, solutions or dispersions for parenteral use.
