Abstract

Novel complexes of theophylline and soluble saccharin are prepared by reaction of theophylline and a soluble saccharin, such as sodium, potassium or ammonium saccharin.ALSO:Pharmaceutical compositions, useful as bronchial dilators, comprise a complex of theophylline and a soluble saccharin, such as sodium, potassium or ammonium saccharin, and a carrier, alone or with other therapeutically useful agents, such as pseudoephedrine hydrochloride and methapyrilene hydrochloride. The compositions are particularly suitable for oral and intravenous administration.
