[Also in Divisions B3 and G1] A multi-layer pipe for carrying fluids under pressure comprises a multi-layer body 1 formed by rolling a band or plate into a spiral coil having the inside and outside diameter thereof fixed by suitable means, and openings 4 for the escape of fluid extend through the outer peripheral part and the intermediate layers of the coil but not through the inner peripheral part forming the surface defining the bore of the pipe. The pipe may have inner, outer and intermediate layers 13, 22 formed by seamless pipes, or those layers may be formed by helically wound bands or the inner layer may comprise a number of pipes welded end-to-end.
