In a rotary-rake-wheel type of haymaking machine wherein the rake-wheels are grounddriven and are capable of being arranged in alternative positions to perform various haymaking operations, the machine comprises a main frame 20-25, a sub-frame 30 swivellable on a pivot 31 on the main frame to occupy alternative angular settings thereto, the sub-frame having rake-wheel assemblies A, B at its ends, each assembly being slidable in the axial direction of the rake-wheels on the subframe relatively to the other, there being means for securing the assemblies and the sub-frame in their adjusted positions. The main frame comprises an A-frame 20 having extremities 22, 21, 21 connected to the upper and lower hitch-links 18, 17, 16 of a tractor. The upper extremity 22 is connected to a plate 24 by divergent bars 23, the lower parts of the A-frame limbs being connected to a further plate 24 by bars 25 which are resiliently telescopic (Fig. 2, not shown). The two plates 24 are vertically aligned and are interconnected by the pivot 31, the plates having an arcuate series of holes 34 enabling the sub-frame to be pinned thereto in an appropriate orientation. The sub-frame terminates in horizontal bearings 61 in which bars 62 are slidable the bars carrying pivoted cranks 46A, 46B at their rear ends, and the cranks carrying bearings 47 for the rake-wheels 48, 48A. The cranks are floatingly suspended from a standard on each bar 62 by spring- encircled rods 52. By forward and rearward movement of the bars 62 and by re-orientation of the sub-frame to the main frame, the rake wheels can be arranged in a single row (full lines) for side-delivery, two groups (dotted lines) for swath-turning, or as individually-operating wheels for swathspreading or tedding.
