Abstract

988,923. Dolls. M. I. GLASS, [trading as MARVIN GLASS ASSOCIATES]. Feb. 24, 1964 [March 1, 1963], No. 7612/64. Heading A6S. A doll is provided with means for opening and flexing the mouth combined with means for simulating a drooling infant making crying noises. The said means comprise a mechanical arrangement inside a flexible body whereby when the body is pressed, as shown in Fig. 2, a flexible lever 52 pushes a bar 104 downwardly so that a connecting rod 96 pulls the upper lip upwardly by means of a lever 74 pivoted at 78, the downward pressure on pivot 78 causing the lower lip to be lowered. The after end of lever 74 produces pressure on a flexible air reservoir 30 and causes air to be passed through non- return valves through a tank 130 containing a bubble-producing solution which may thus be passed into the mouth. The air pressure in the body also causes a cry-sounding device 32 to operate.
