[Also in Division H1] An electromagnetically operated valve in which a spring-loaded plunger 20 is raised by a solenoid 53, is provided with four bridge-connected semi-conductor diodes 47-50 mounted in the same housing for supplying the solenoid with D.C. from an A.C. supply. As shown, the diodes are arranged in a quadrangle in the space 42 under the solenoid, but they may be placed below the lower flux-conducting plate 35 or above the upper flux-conducting plate 60. When the plunger is raised from seating 24 a bore 16 leading to outlet 13 is opened. The inlet is through ducts 12 and 14. The plunger contains a softer sealing substance 21.
