988,606. Flexible barges. DRACONE DEVELOPMENTS Ltd. July 26, 1963 [Aug. 2, 1962], No. 29733/62. Heading B7A. A barge (Fig. 1) having a closed tubular flexible envelope 1 with a closable filling and emptying aperture 4, 5 at each end has a flexible membrane 2 joined to the interior surface of the envelope along a continuous line 3 which when the barge is completely extended by filling it with a fluid cargo, lies in a plane dividing the interior volume of the barge into two parts, one on either side of said plane. When the barge is filled from 4 the membrane lines the left-hand end of the barge as shown at 6; when filled from 5 the membrane is driven to position 7. Whereas in Fig. 1 the line 3 lies in a plane normal to the longitudinal axis of the barge, in Fig. 2 it lies in a plane more parallel to said axis. Specification 883,813 is referred to.
