Abstract

1,141,425. Floats for hoses. HEWITTROBINS INTERNATIONAL S.A. 22 Feb., 1967, No. 8421/67. Heading F2P. A float for a submarine hose system comprises a generally cylindrical body having a central opening and split longitudinally to define a pair of semi-cylindrical segments A, B. Each segment has a pair of longitudinally-extending mating surfaces 11, 12 which are generally convex and concave. The segments are formed from foam plastics material and are hinged together at 13, suitable clasp means 14 1 , 14 2 being provided. As shown, the surfaces 11, 12 are disposed with the ridges thereof longitudinally of the float; in a modification, Figs. 2 to 4 (not shown), the ridges are transverse to the axis of the float.
