An orthopaedic foot support of the indirect type -i.e. in which the foot is supported on the ends of the arch rather than all over the archhas a periphery corresponding at least in part to the periphery of an insole and has holes 64, 76, 77 and 80 or grooves in the bottom side exchangeably to receive and hold build-up means whereby the slope of the upper side of the support may be adjusted. The support, of a flexible perspiration-resisting material - e.g. nylon - is in two parts 61, 71 which are connected by rivets 98; or by studs held in place by a thin sleeve or by adhesive, welding, or pressing. A plurality of holes 68, 69, 78, 79 are provided so that the total length of the support and the angle of the front part with respect to the back part may be adjusted. Portions 63, 73 may be cut away from smaller shoes. The holes 64, 76 &c. are in thickened portions 62, 82.
