In a ball joint at least one of the relatively sliding bearing surfaces of the ball head and the joint casing or, as shown, a bearing member is formed with lubricating grooves 7 the bottoms of which lie on the surface of a sphere the radius of which corresponds to the radius of the ball head and the centre m of which is displaced relative to the centre M of the head in the direction of the main loading of the surface.
