Abstract

986,914. Sack-holders. ROBERT H. CRAWFORD & SON Ltd. Feb. 18, 1964 [Dec. 18, 1962], No. 47723/62. Heading B8C. A sack is held in position around a steel frame 1 by presser bars 7 carried by pairs of lever arms 6, each pair of arms being rigidly connected to a rod 3 which passes through holes 4 in two bracket arms 2 secured at an angle to a frame side. The presser bars 7 are encircled at each end by a rubber strip 8, and can swing downwards into and upwards out of frictional engagement with the adjacent frame side, so operable by handles 5 formed at the rod ends. A number of such sack holders may be mounted on a feed hopper 10. The weight of the sack and its contents tends to pull down the presser bars into tighter engagement with the sack.
