986,835. Resilient mountings. MASCHINENFABRIK AUGSBURG-NURNBERG A.G. Aug. 30, 1962 [Sept. 1, 1961], No. 33292/62. Heading F2S. A device for supporting an engine in the chassis 1 of a road or rail vehicle comprises a bolt 4, which is pivoted to a chassis trunnion 2 through a rubber torsion spring 5 and which is surrounded by a spring 15, e.g. of rubber, which yields radially and axially of the bolt 4 and which is bonded to rigid inner and outer sleeves 13, 14 supported by, and located in, respectively the bolt 4 and a centring sleeve 17 on the engine carrier. A sleeve 7, welded to a sleeve 6, screwed into the bolt 4, carries a bottom clamping ring 8 which is backed-up by a washer 10 and nut 9, the inner sleeve 13 of the rubber spring being retained by rings 11, 12. The centring sleeve 17 carries the engine through a ring 16 and has a countering 18 which cooperates with a stop member 21 on the clamping ring 8. The engine is suspended at the front end by a bearing 23, 24 arranged in the longitudinal centre plane of the engine, the rear end of the engine being rigidly connected to a carrier 20. A link 25 is resiliently connected between the chassis 1 and the carrier 19. An abutment 26 on the chassis 1 co-operates with a stop member 27 on the engine carrier to limit oscillatory movement of the engine.
