The stiff outer cover of a carton with a loose lining 2 has grip openings 3 defined by cuts or weakening perforations in two opposed walls. The lining, which may be made of plastics fibre or a similar thin flexible packaging material may be adhered locally to the outer cover at the grip openings or alternatively some distance from the openings.
