A hand saw comprises a single length of metal bar or strong wire 10 bent to form a frame with, at one end, a free extremity for the attachment of a saw blade and, at the other end, a handle 12 and a free extremity for the attachment of the other end of the blade. The bar, which may be of round, elliptical, square or other cross-section, is bent to form first and second U-shapes, the first 12 forming the handle, and the second 13 providing the free extremity 14 for the attachment of the saw blade. The second U-shape is welded to the back 11 of the frame. Pins 17 are provided at the extremities for the attachment of the blade.
