A parting-off tool comprises an elongate body 23 with a head portion 22 of uniform cross-section of greater width than the body and which extends along one side thereof, the top and side surfaces of the head being concave. The opposed side surfaces of the head converge downward towards the other side of the body to provide side cutting clearances.
