An article, e.g. a glove, is made by dipping a former into a solution of natural or synthetic rubber or polyvinyl chloride and after the final dipping while the surface deposited on the former is still tacky the former is dipped into a fluidized bath of dusting powder and vulcanization or gelling is effected.
