983,779. Valves. N. CORAH (ST. MARGARET) Ltd., D. C. MASTERS, and A. BREWIN. May 24, 1963 [June 7, 1962], No. 22021/62. Heading F2V. A one-way valve comprises a housing, preferably formed as two parts 1, 2. The part 1 is formed with a conical-shaped section 5, leading to a tubular section 6, and wall at the larger end formed with a U-shaped part 7. The part 2 has a valve port 13 at the end of a conduit 14. A valve flap 8, formed with an integral weight 11, is freely hinged to the housing and is opened in response to flow in the direction A and is closed to prevent flow in the direction B. All the parts of the valve are preferably made of transparent acrylic plastic whereby the condition of the valve may be observed. Specifications 983,777 and 983,778 are referred to.
