[Also in Division E1] A support for solid, cleansing, deodorizing, disinfecting or sanitizing material for a lavatory bowl comprises a container made from flexible plastics material, e.g. P.V.C., and provided with one or more openings towards its top to admit flushing water and provided at or towards its bottom with one or more apertures 2 or 3 of such a size and/or number relative to said openings that, when in use, admission of flushing water causes a build up of liquid inside the container which subsequently drains into the lavatory bowl while the bulk of the solid material is retained, and means comprising at least one web, tongue or strap 1 of flexible plastics material for retaining the container in the path of the flushing water and above the normal water level in the bowl, which web, tongue or strap is smooth and capable of being affixed to the rim of the lavatory bowl by adhesion or cohesion. The solid deodorant or disfectant may be in block, granular or lump form and may be p-dichlorobenzene, calcium hypochlorite or sodium perchlorate.
