Abstract

Rastered electrophotographic plates are produced by coating a smooth carrier with a layer of photoconductive selenium in raster form so that the coating thickness fluctuates periodically. The coating is applied either by vapour deposition or by flame spraying in an inert atmosphere. A raster template is secured magnetically to the carrier and the selenium is vapour deposited through the template to give the required raster coating.
