Abstract

982,042. Handles for containers. E. CIGOGNETTI. May 5, 1961 [Oct. 29, 1960], No. 16486/61. Heading A4G. A container, formed of a flexible synthetic plastics material closed at both ends 1 and 2 by high frequency electric welding, has a neck with a screw stopper 5, and a handle 10 connected to the container body by strips 8, 9. The container and handle are preferably formed from a single tubular element. A member 11 of wood is inserted in the plastics material of the handle, between further weld lines, and a portion 7 of the material is removed in order to provide a hand-grip. Reinforcing strips of plastics are applied on either side of the welded portions 1 and 2, Figs. 4 and 5 (not shown). The material of the container body may be plasticized p.v.c., the neck of unplasticized p.v.c., and the stopper 5 of polythene.
