Abstract

1,014,006. Collapsible containers; packages; bags. BILIPAK Ltd. June 26, 1964 [July 1, 1963], No. 25996/63. Headings B8C, B8D and B8K. [Also in Division A5] A collapsible container for liquid or paste is formed from a tube of thermoplastic resin, e.g. polythene, by welding the tube at 4a and again on each side of the tube at 2 before it is filled and closed by a further weld at 4b. The container is opened by cutting the neck formed between the weld lines 2, the contents being first squeezed below that level. A tube may then be inserted in and held by the upper tapered portion of the neck and the contents ejected through the tube by squeezing the container. In a modification, Fig. 2 (not shown), a tubular length of thermoplastic material is filled before being welded at intervals and cut either simultaneously with the sealing or later; the container neck is formed within a welded area of the tube. The device may be used for administering mouth-washes and enemas.
