981,810. Pneumatic conveyers. YORKSHIRE ENGINEERING & WELDING CO. (BRADFORD) Ltd. Nov. 21, 1963 [Nov. 22, 1962], No. 44138/62. Heading B8A. In a storage hopper 3 for powder &c. which is adapted for fluidized discharge through the base 5 by the introduction of air through fluidizing panels 6 near the base, non-return valves 8 are provided in the upper part of the hopper to permit re-circulation of the air through further fluidizing panels 7 arranged in the corners or valley angles between the sloping walls 4 of the hopper. In the example the hopper 1 is mounted within a cylindrical shell 1 of a vehicle adapted for bulk transport, the shell providing a chamber 9 for recirculating the air. The fluidizing panels 6, 7 may be of generally triangular form with a common base line.
