Abstract

A road surfacing composition comprises a mixture of base material, a setting accelerator, and 10-30% of granulated slag, having a particle size of up to 3 mm., the mixture being coated with a hydrocarbon binder. The base material may be sand, porphyry or crushed slag. The setting accelerator may be lime, calcium carbonate or gypsum. The hydrocarbon binder may be tar or bitumen.
