A channel for a double-chain scraper conveyer comprises lower flanges 2 which are considerably thicker than the upper flanges 3 to compensate for additional wear on the underside of the lower flanges. The lower flanges are longer than the upper flanges. Hinged scraper flights 8 bear on parts of the lower flanges which project beyond the upper flanges, the flights being moved to their flat-lying position. Along the upper run, the scraper flights are raised and project upwards between the upper flanges.
