A magazine slide changing device comprises a claw 23 fixed to a blade spring 24 mounted on a transverse member 22 carried on a slider which is manually or motor-driven. A slide returning from the projection position is deflected away from claw 23 by arm 29a of a spring 29 and passes over the wedge shaped edge of a partition 15 in the slide shaft 9 into the gap between the inclined face 15c and the adjacent slide, when due to the spring-loaded plate 17, the slide carrying frame 16 is advanced by one slide along the shaft . 9. At the end of the return stroke, claw 23 slips over the edge of the next slide 27a until it abuts surface 28 of the frame retaining ledge 13. By this means, the claw can engage only one slide at a time, since the distance "b" is less than the smallest slide thickness.
