In a broom head, internal bristles or bristle tufts of a hard-wearing synthetic resin such as "Shalon" (Registered Trade Mark) are completely surrounded by tufts of a natural fibre such as bahia. The natural fibre bristles are thus in a position where their superior corner and crevice clearing action can best be used.
