Abstract

980,636. Photo-electric control systems. M. CLAUSEN, [trading as FIRMA DANFOSS VED. ING. M. CLAUSEN]. April 4, 1961 [March 31, 1960], No. 12051/61. Heading G1A. A light-sensitive probe used, for example, in flame control systems, comprises a photo-electric device 4 connected in series with a thermallysensitive device 5 operating when the probe is subjected to a temperature above a predetermined value to disconnect the photo-electric device 4 from a control relay in a heat control unit 1. The arrangement is employed because the increase of the dark current due to a high temperature may be sufficient to hold operated the control relay which is to be operated by illumination and released by the normal dark current. The photo-electric device 4, may comprise a photo-resistor and the thermally operated device 5 may comprise a switch with a soldered contact member, or a bi-metallic element fitted with a heating coil and operating so that the connection to the circuit 1 is broken when the temperature rises above the predetermined level. The operation of the thermally-sensitive member may operate an alarm circuit.
