Abstract

1,259,793. Controlling burners. DANFOSS A.S. 30 April, 1969 [2 May, 1968], No. 21968/69. Heading F4T. In an oil-burner control system including a motor 5 controlled by a relay M having contacts M1 the flame is monitored by a photo-resistor 9 the current through which is amplified by a transistor Tr and energizes a relay F having contacts F1, F2, the collector-emitter path of the transistor being connected in parallel with the relay F and a resistor R4 is connected on the collector side in the common lead to the parallel connection. Upon a call for heat from a thermostat KT relay F is energized to close contacts F1, F2 and supply current ignition to transformer 8 and motor relay M. The presence of flame detected by photoresistor 9 renders the transistor Tr conductive and relay F releases to interrupt the ignition and open the contact F2 thus switching in resistor R1 to the motor relay circuit to reduce the current to a value between starting and holding currents. Flame failure during start-up or during operation causes a heavier current through the heater of safety switch V to trip contact V1 after a predetermined period.
