Abstract

979,764. Discharging liquids by gaseous pressure. GARRETT CORPORATION. June 6, 1961 [June 9, 1960], No. 20441/61. Heading F1R. A container 10 for liquid which is to be discharged by gaseous pressure has an outlet 12 connected to an internal duct which is permeable to the liquid and that portion of the duct which is not submerged in the liquid is wet by capillary action so that it is impermeable to the pressure discharging gas which will discharge liquid in any orientation of the container. The internal duct may comprise a series of internal interconnected hoops 14 as shown in Fig. 1 or as shown in Fig. 3 the space between a porous shell 30 and the container 10.
