Relates to a side-delivery rake of the kind having an oblique rotary reel 31 formed by tine-bars 34 which cooperate with arcuate stripper bars 40 mounted between forward and rear frame-members 42, 43 interconnected by endmembers 45, 46 carrying bearings 38, 47 for the end-discs 37, 32 of the reel; the whole device constitutes a rakebasket which is mounted on the wheeled main frame 3. According to the invention, the rake-basket is supported from at least one support-member 61 (Fig. 3) which is pivotally mounted on the main frame so as to swing about a horizontal axis transverse to the basket, resilient members 70, 76 being provided for resisting pivotal movement of the support about the axis. The main frame is triangular in plan, the longer sides 7, 8 being interconnected at intervals by cross-members 15, 16, 65. Two rear wheels 20, 21 drive an axle through one-way clutch mechanism 22, the drive to the reel being taken from the axle to the reel-disc 32 via a chain 25 and jointed shaft 29. The rake-basket is supported at the rear by links 92, 93 pivoted to arms 88, 89 integral with a hexagonal shaft 87 rotatably carried by support member 61. At the front, the basket is suspended by hanger 113 and adjustable screw 111 from an arm 104 journalled in the support-member 61 and having gear teeth 102 which mesh with similar teeth 101 on a wheel solid with the hexagonal shaft 87: movement of the links 88, 89, 104 therefore occurs simultaneously to raise and lower the basket, being effected by a screwed handle 135 connected to the link 88 which is of bell-crank form. The support-member 61 is pivoted at 62 on a cross-beam 65 and includes pockets 71, 75 for the compression springs 70, 76, the compression of one spring 76 being adjustable by a screwed member 82.
