Abstract

977,130. Road traffic signalling apparatus. N. S. F. Ltd. May 28,1962 [May 26,1961], No. 19074/61. Heading G4Q. [Also in Division H2] Two rotary switches have rotors 21, 22, carrying spring-pressed bridging contacts for engaging arcuately extending fixed contacts carried by a common stator 23 (see Division H2), the switches being contained in a projection 2 of a housing 1 on an automobile steering column. A direction indicator control knob 5 has a shaft 6 connected to rotor 21, and the shaft 6 is connected to a self-cancelling mechanism comprising a pair of spring loaded pawls 14 operated by movement of the steering column. A lighting control knob 8 has a hollow shaft 9 connected to rotor 22. A horn button 10 has a shaft 11 passing through shaft 9 to actuate contacts 18, 19.
